An increasing number of people are bringing plants into their homes. While research suggests that plants are capable of purifying the air, this is not the main reason that they are entering homes. The simple fact is that plants are pretty. Even on a cold winter’s day, it can be pleasant to see a plant n your living space, especially if it has dark green leaves and perhaps a stunning flower growing at the top of it.

In short, plants are pretty, they help you to de-stress and feel happy at home and they can even help to reduce or eliminate smells in your home. Of course, you do need to choose the right plant to enjoy the aroma and not the smell of fertilizer. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have other stunningly beautiful plants in your home, such as the Fiddle leaf fig. But you should be aware of which ones smell nice and which simply have no smell.

The following three plants all have beautiful scents but there are others that you may prefer, depending on your scent preference.

ORCHIDS

Orchids are famous for being difficult to look after, making them a challenge to keep in your home. However, they are not as difficult to keep as you may think. The secret is to remember to water them once a week by pacing the pot in a sink of water for approximately 30 minutes.

You can then put them back in their indirect sunlit spot and watch them grow.

Orchids come in a wide variety of colors, from golden yellow to pure white. They look stunning and smell amazing, try smelling the next orchid you see!

JASMINE

This delicate flower offers a sweet smell that lingers in the air. The flowers are a crisp white with a bright yellow center that looks amazing. In fact, Jasmine has a variety of meanings, including purity, devotion, and love. There are even some varieties that will flower virtually all year round if they are kept inside.

As well as enjoying the delightful aroma you can harvest the flowers and make jasmine tea!

CITRUS PLANTS

You can choose between orange, lemon, grapefruit, or a variety of other citrus flavors. You already know how they will smell which makes it easier to choose your favorite aroma for your kitchen.

These plants prefer well-lit spots and need a temperature of between 60-65°F. They also need to be watered regularly to keep the soil moist but not drenched. With this, they will produce beautiful flowers that smell amazing.

It should be noted that choosing a beautifully scented plant for your home is a personal choice. There are many different aromas available and you need to choose the one that appeals to you. It is also important to consider the environment you will be keeping it in. Some plants prefer direct sunlight, others prefer shade and indirect sunlight. Knowing what space you have available will make it easier to choose a sweet-smelling plant that will make you smile every time you see it.
