As a landlord, creating a great atmosphere for your tenants is always a win-win for both parties. Not only will they be helping you financially, but you’ll be able to help someone acquire a place to stay that works with their budget. After you have prettied up your place to attract new tenants and done a few tenant interviews, it’s time to do a second check on other things you can do to make your home a place where tenants would want to stay on a long-term basis.

Tenants

It never hurts to do a once-over with your initial tenant prep. Make it a point to review all the changes you’ve made to accelerate securing a tenant. Is overall lighting in your house abundant and working properly? Have you thoroughly cleaned all the nooks and crannies within the rooms that a potential tenant may initially venture into? Did the new paint on your walls dry properly without any dings, scratches or marks? Does your home have a pleasant scent to it upon entering? Asking yourself these questions will help to avoid overlooking anything that could make or break a deal with a tenant.

Next, you want to think about the amenities that your home will provide the tenant with. As a person goes throughout their day, convenience and easy access to the things that are needed on a regular basis makes that person’s quality of life a lot smoother and enjoyable. Likewise, you want to make sure your tenants truly enjoy their new space without question. Do it yourself recommend to make sure that the parking you can provide is ample and reliable. There’s nothing like the nail-biting anxious feeling of wondering if you’ll have a parking spot when coming back from work all the time! Another amenity that would be very appealing to your tenants is reliable laundry access. Installing or updating your washer and dryer within your unit will always be welcomed! To really sell to the tenant, it would be a good idea to include the laundry facilities as a free amenity included in their lease agreements.

At this point, the last step in making your home super attractive to tenants is to simply find the right tenants to occupy the space. If you find that you are having a difficult time finding the right kind of tenant, there are professional companies out there that you can hire for help. Take advantage of all of your resources!
