Traveling through a different country has endless perks, one of those being that you get to stay in typically totally hip hostels. While they offer excellent opportunities to meet people from all over the world, it also seems to be a frequent thing for them to always be well designed and awesomely decorated. With the Brazil based RIOOW Hostel, this is exactly the case. PKB Arquitetura and Vital’s collaboration on this modern hostel is one of perfect simplicity and subtle contrast.
The lobby, lounge, and general space of this modern hostel are very fun in their design. With a loud geometric pattern on the floor and subtle stripe designs on the walls, the seemingly mismatching patterns come together very nicely. We love the use of bright yellow and eggshell blue in the furniture; the two colors balance things nicely.
The design for the rooms themselves are really cool. Based on a traditional form of latticework, known as muxarabi, the bed bunks offer guests a good amount of privacy, but maintain a very modern appeal in their design. This modern hostel is surely one to stay at if you are making your way through Brazil.
