Pushing imagination and creativity to the hilt, this enthralling and modern eclectic interior offers new definitions in residential space, design and living. Set up in an Amsterdam apartment, this pop-up shop stands as a testament to the flair and finesse of local company The Playing Circle. The 2014 winter edition of ideas, the Loft II is an open ended dialogue in concept, design and details.
The open planned space is articulated as a spatial progression of purpose, transitioning from the most social to the most private of spaces across its footprint. This movement along the privacy and functional gradient-from entrance to rear-finds new lease when it culminates in grand and generous windows, flooding the loft with natural light and city views. The glazing folds into the roof, looping across as skylights and linking back with the entrance space. This weaves the design and its modern eclectic interior into a singular composition that finds harmony amid its diversity.
Natural materials come together in a plethora of expressions, united by their delicate presence and light touch. The various furnishings stand proud in their individual flavor and identity, relying on the natural wood herringbone flooring and a composition of rugs and carpets to create strong spatial definitions. An enchanting array of elements and details flood the space, brought together by a color palette executed with elegance and restraint.
Holding a little of something for everybody, this pop-up shop is a fascinating storehouse of intricate innovations and infinite possibilities.
