Tucked away in the Korean countryside outside of Namhae, transformed by JOHO Architecture is this intriguing and very modern energy-efficient house. At first glance, you’d maybe not even realize this is a home, especially given the very rural setting of the home. With that being said, though, this is one cool looking house!

Obviously the outer structure is part of renovations done to make this an energy-efficient house, but the rest of the home has maintained its original architectural makeup. The curved design of the latticed facade opens the house while both maintaining privacy and ensuring the efficiency of the home.

The wood and brick used for the porch remind you of the original home that stands behind the white lattice. While two very different styles in design exist out there, they complement each other. And really, the white was the right choice here, it really brightens up things.

The facade and the wrap-around porch provide an excellent sitting around for people. It’s actually partially covered, so if it’s raining you can still enjoy the outdoors! While this home is starkly modern in contrast to its surroundings, it still fits in quite well.

Energy-efficient homes are definitely going to become the norm as time goes, so don’t be surprised if you see homes like this one in the near future!
