Don’t throw away burnt light bulbs! They could be re-used in a smart way to make some very original and cute looking vases. It’s quite simple and will take just a few minutes to make. Be sure that the result is nothing but adorable!

You will need old light bulbs of any shape or size, pliers, wire cutters, and some hemp or thin gardening wire. To start, you’ll first have to peel off the thin silver layer from the bottom of the bulb, using the pliers. Next, remove the black cap, too. This part you can either carefully smash with a hammer, or again use the pliers to first crack it and then remove the pieces. Be extremely careful! You are working with glass! It’d be safer to use safety goggles. Then, remove the inside of the bulb. You should again be extremely careful as it’s all glass and it can easily snap. Once the light bulb is emptied, you can wrap a ribbon or any piece of fabric around the metal part.

Now comes the easiest part –  pour some water inside the vase, place in flowers of your choice,  and hang the creative item somewhere, using gardening wire or hemp thread. This DIY bulb vase could be your new wonderful home décor and the best part is you can make it yourself  🙂
