When we think of blue and yellow decoration, an old convent is not what immediately what comes to mind. But after seeing this amazing renovation by Italian architects Zeta Studio we might be changing our tune. The architects renovated part of the 17th century St. Micheles’ convent in the city of Anacapri on the island of Capri into a gorgeous modern hotel which has two exclusive rooms.
They kept as many of the original architectural details in tact as possible; from the tall sloping ceilings, soaring arches, and original tile in the bathrooms. Some of the stone walls had layers of color that dated back from centuries of repainting; those were kept as is. Other walls were painted white and grey flooring was installed. The only pops of color are blue and yellow.
From the furniture, the bedding, countertops and accessories; the blue and yellow color scheme brings a bright and sunny feeling to this and any home décor. It’s a tried and true staple in home decoration and can work with many different tastes and styles. So our only question is – Which room would you choose? Blue or Yellow?
