When you go to a cafe or restaurant of any kind to eat, the food is not always the main thing that draws you in. Before your food is even ordered, you find yourself entering the café based off of the first impression of its exterior. However, inside is where you really get a feel for making the ultimate decision to dine there. Presentation is everything! Do you want to know another secret to presentation? It doesn’t have to cost the café owner a whole arm and leg to design with the right sustainable materials. This café design, located in China, shows us how it’s done!

Known simply as the Home Café, designed by Penda, this café design incorporates immense amounts of recycled steel bars that are intricately crafted into a grid system spanning across the inner perimeter and ceiling work of this place like vines. Likewise, the clean-cut wooden boxes that occupy some of the steel bar cubes feature lively plant life that serve as a burst of vibrant color and literal breath of fresh air for customers looking to clear their lungs a bit. The complimentary wooden tables and chairs are placed near in the center of the café which encourages social mingling and reading. For those looking to enjoy the scenery in peace, the stealthy lounge sofas are hidden behind the grid-work for more privacy.

With this design, we’re sure that there is always a heavy rotation of returning customers!
